Coopers Brewery Foundation

The Coopers Brewery Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Coopers Brewery, reinforcing the Cooper family traditions of community involvement and social responsibility. It represents a major commitment by Coopers Brewery to the welfare of Australians – brewing support for the community. The Foundation aims to improve and protect the quality of life of Australians by providing support to charitable organisations with recognised strengths in medical research and health care, in youth education and aged care, and in fostering family and community support based on Christian values. Philosophy The Cooper Family has a reputation of generosity towards the community. Their involvement in the community has long supported the Company and represents a reciprocal engagement of mutual care and respect. This principle is something that the Cooper family believes is at the heart of the tradition of Coopers Brewery and encapsulates the legacy of its founder, Thomas Cooper. The formation of the Coopers Brewery Foundation ensures this family tradition continues well into the future by providing a focused structure for its charitable giving and more importantly, to enable the means for spreading the generosity of the Company further. The Foundation raises funds from its brewery and museum tours, individual donors and other fundraising activities. Coopers Brewery meets all the overheads and administration costs of the Foundation, so all monies raised goes towards assisting Australian charities. How to apply for Funding The Foundation can only accept funding applications from Australian charities that have Deductible Gift Recipient status from the Australian Taxation Office. Application assessments will be based on how the project fits the Foundation’s focus, philosophy and availability of funds.
